Arka Innovate – Technical / Functional Business Analyst (Asset & Wealth Management – Finance Back Office Operations)

Position Overview

Arka Innovate is seeking an experienced Technical / Functional Business Analyst with strong expertise in Asset & Wealth Management Finance Back Office Operations to bridge business and technology teams in delivering enterprise transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will possess deep knowledge of investment operations, fund accounting, reconciliation, treasury, financial controls, and enterprise financial platforms. This role requires the ability to analyze complex operational workflows, document business requirements, and collaborate closely with Product Owners, Engineering, Data, and Operations teams to deliver scalable business solutions.

This is a 5 days onsite work at NYC.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops with Operations, Finance, Accounting, Treasury, and Technology stakeholders to understand current-state business processes and operational challenges.
• Analyze and document end-to-end business workflows, process maps, business rules, operational controls, exceptions, and system interactions.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, user stories, acceptance criteria, and non-functional requirements.
• Partner closely with Product Owners, Architects, Developers, QA, and Data Engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Facilitate backlog grooming, sprint planning, requirements clarification, and business prioritization activities.
• Analyze APIs, system integrations, data flows, event-driven architectures, and workflow orchestration to support solution design.
• Identify process improvement opportunities through automation, AI-enabled workflows, and operational optimization.
• Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), defect triage, production validation, and release readiness activities.
• Ensure complete traceability between business requirements, technical solutions, testing, and production deliverables.
• Create Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), workflow diagrams, use cases, data mapping documents, and process documentation.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define KPIs, reporting requirements, operational metrics, and success criteria.
• Support audit, compliance, governance, and regulatory requirements by documenting controls, approvals, and operational processes.
• Leverage AI-assisted productivity tools responsibly to improve business analysis, documentation, impact analysis, and requirements management.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Functional Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role.
• Strong experience within Asset Management, Wealth Management, Hedge Funds, Private Equity, Alternative Investments, Investment Banking, or Financial Services is required.
• Hands-on experience supporting Finance Back Office Operations, including:
• Strong experience gathering, analyzing, and documenting business and functional requirements.
• Experience creating:
  • Business Requirement Documents (BRDs)
  • Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs)
  • User Stories
  • Acceptance Criteria
  • Process Flow Diagrams
  • Business Process Models
  • Data Mapping Documents
• Strong understanding of APIs, system integrations, data flows, event-driven architectures, and workflow-based applications.
• Experience working with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid software delivery methodologies.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, reporting, and business analysis.
• Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and documentation skills
